Tax Benefits
Below are the reasons we have several owners that have several units in our program. You'll be able to enjoy the following tax benefits:
-
Deprecation: Most of our customers use a 5 year depreciation schedule for income tax purpose. You can take 52 % during the first 2 years alone.
-
Expenses: You'll be able to deduct insurance premiums, maintenance costs, and any upgrades you may want on your motor home. Plus, a vacation in your motor home when you want it. These now become business expenses.
-
Section 179 Deduction: each year the government allows a capital investment purchase that can use an accelerated depreciation schedule for that investment. (For more information, see Publication 946 from the Internal Revenue Service IRS)
It would be advisable to contact your tax advisor or your accountant to explain these tax programs to you.
